New family service: Teddy bear’s picnic.

Sunday’s the day the teddy bears have their picnic at St John the Evangelist Scottish Episcopal Church, Wick.

Children and children-at-heart are warmly invited to attend a Teddy Bear’s Picnic Service at St John’s on Sunday at 4pm. The service will include storytelling, singing and activities for children to enjoy, as well as giving them the opportunity to explore the church and its gardens with their soft toys.

If the weather allows, the service will take place in the gardens of the church, with some picnic blankets provided, although attendees are welcome and encouraged to bring their own as well. There will also be juice and snacks provided.

This service is the first in a series of regular themed Family Services planned at St John’s on the fourth Sunday of each month.

Rev. Ellie Charman, Curate at St John’s, says “we are excited to be hosting this event for children and the young at heart. It will be a great opportunity for children and their families to come along and take part in a service which has youth worship at the heart of it. In the Gospel, Jesus encouraged his disciples to become like little children, and this seems like a very good mandate for making the church as accessible as possible for families!”
